Sure. Polish off that bottle, meander down the street to the Albert, have a late Scotch on the rocks, chat about the Braves' offseason roster changes. No different, really...
I'm an American expatriate living in Abu Dhabi, a land of sun and sand 7,500 miles and nine time zones from home. It's a unique place, one that offers up a steady stream of new discoveries and interesting people.
Where in the world am I?
For anyone with only a vague notion of where to find the United Arab Emirates -- we're part of that little point of land directly below Iran. (Hey, I can see Tehran from my house!)
My new neighborhood
I live in Al Bateen (my apartment is in a villa inside the red circle), a residential neighborhood that's convenient to the Corniche, downtown and work. It's a pretty cool area of villas and palaces and parks. It's great for running - lots of wide streets and sidewalks (some with a soft running surface), lots of trees, and plenty of palace walls to run past, wondering what's on the other side.
Psst. Check this list.
Six String Sanctuary has an on-going list of CDs you should not miss. Some are classics, some are a little obscure ... but all get the SSS seal of approval.
Distance is just geography...glad to know your relaxing end-of-day routine continues, if not here, then there. :)
